Claudia Little Photograph

A few days ago we received works of Claudia Little and we are posting one to see how you feel about her art.

Her bio reads as follows: “I live in Hinterland Northern New Mexico, the land of the serpent and I was born in the land of the living dead in Memphis, Tennessee. I am an artist of many trades from knitting to welding, and a fashion designer. My new passion is a photo series of erotic studies.”

This is amazingtastic, true faboo. Wondrous arrangement of the model, very fantastical. Exactly what I look for in erotica.

  6. Runa on February 9th, 2010 7:36 pm

It’s so absolutely breath taking! Good composition, and i love that lovely masked beauty.

  7. lilacalilah on February 9th, 2010 9:34 pm

astonishing, this photo is seductively stunning. amazingly beautiful and perplexed. i hope to see more in the near future.

  8. Page Bancroft on February 10th, 2010 1:10 am

She is saying something that I personally identify with but it is also universal.

chills, sleek body, shiny boots,,,will she get out of the cage? Clearly I don’t care but I like this take on an often misrepresented form….The Female Human Body.

  9. Celso Almeida on February 10th, 2010 1:26 am

Penso que representa um resto da floresta, em forma de triangulo, amazonica aprisionada por devastadores da naureza…

  16. Trixie Treasures on February 10th, 2010 7:56 pm

YUM!!! I want to be this woman! This is a great photo for so many reasons; the photo: great composition, light & shadow, tone, texture and subject. I also love the psychological background and emotion. She is beautiful, strong and confident in her wiling and artistic partisipation in being dominated. Wonderfully erotic! Would love to see more from this artist.

  17. Faustus on February 10th, 2010 8:49 pm

Wow, just wow. So sensual and spectacular for a laundry list of reasons. I hope we get to see more!

  18. Scott Robinson on February 10th, 2010 9:37 pm

Maybe it\’s my LCD, but the low contrast between the positive and negative space harms the composition. The dark is perfect for the mood, but I think this photo is just *too* dark!

  19. Hoku on February 10th, 2010 10:26 pm

    Beautiful!

  20. jamie on February 10th, 2010 10:36 pm

at first i thought her head was empty and cut open like a baloon and found it very shocking.. but it’s a skull.. ok.. i don’t really find this erotic but i think it’s because her head is hidden. so is the man’s… they arn;t people.

  21. jamie on February 10th, 2010 10:55 pm

and also how her lower body is positioned.

  22. Lily on February 11th, 2010 12:47 am

fantastic! alluring, sexy, and unique. i love this. classy and kinky at the same time. a very talented artist, id love to see more. this photo leaves me wanting more! and more of Ms.Little’s work

  23. yes on February 11th, 2010 2:35 am

    love this.

  24. lilacalilah on February 11th, 2010 3:59 am

Ms. little great work this photo has been on my mind all day, the balance between light and dark really draws you in. i love how the body is so exposed yet the face is hidden under a bone vail, leaving the viewer the space for imagination. the luminous yet pail body witch is the focal point in the photo for me, stands out with such magnitude leaving her dark over looker in the back round longing, gated off from his mistress. brilliantly approached if i must say so myself. hands down one of the best photos i have encountered in some time.

  25. Catherine on February 11th, 2010 7:18 am

I can’t tell what is on her head. I think it has a lot of potential, but it was distracting because half the time I was straining to see what is going on with her head. The reclining caged lady has a gorgeous, artistic body.
Overall, I think parts of it need to be stratigically lightened.
It is interesting because the floor is so dark, that we don’t get a feel of 3-D dimension.
Nice work. 8 ) love the idea!

  26. beeb on February 11th, 2010 9:55 am

Too intense and obscure for me mais chaque a son gout

  27. Elisa Minx on February 11th, 2010 2:25 pm

Deliciously pert and sassy and at the same time casual. A strong and beautiful peek into someone’s private world. Great work!!!!

  28. breal on February 11th, 2010 3:09 pm

stunning photograph I love all the different levels in this… who is in the boots?

  29. lorimetals on February 11th, 2010 4:27 pm

More Claudia Little! Love the work.

  30. toocool4school on February 11th, 2010 4:34 pm

i love this picture! i love how dark it is, reminds me of the opium dens in anais nin describes in her collected works of erotica! awesome photo!!!

  31. jamie on February 11th, 2010 4:47 pm

maybe the black boots is not a man… and my mind fills in that it is… his or her waist seems kind of small.

  32. Gail Snyder on February 11th, 2010 5:22 pm

I not only really like this photo (it feels like the photographer is giving me a snapshot of things hidden deeply from me just below the dream level of my imagination), I also have enjoyed reading through all the differing responses. That, the fact that it elicits so many different levels across such a wide spectrum, signifies to me that this artwork is a pretty dang effective key!

  33. Morbella on February 11th, 2010 5:37 pm

    Darkly delicious!

  34. KG on February 11th, 2010 6:25 pm

I think this photo is great. The overall composition adds to a sense of secret, hidden places of imagination, and animal desire.

  35. Red Cell on February 11th, 2010 6:40 pm

    Very nice. Lovely textures.

  36. Bronwench on February 11th, 2010 7:12 pm

Beauty and the Beast leave me wanting more. Show me/tell me the rest of the tale (tail)…

  37. Gabrielle on February 11th, 2010 7:13 pm

Very lovely. The darkness is perfectly balanced by the porcelain skin of the figure. Poignant, indeed. i think it is beautiful.

  38. Kurt Quintana on February 11th, 2010 7:38 pm

I love this piece. It is so dark and seductive. Anyone who cant see the eroticism of the dark and bizarre is obviously blind. It also has a rustic circus feel to me. The model has great composition with the mysterious man standing over. I love it.

  39. iao on February 11th, 2010 7:45 pm

an animal that wants to be let out of the cage.

  40. Mystery Lady on February 11th, 2010 7:48 pm

I like that it is so obscure, with all the monotony in this world it is nice to see something that captures the beauty of our hidden realms of consciousness. Those dark pleasures that sometimes can only be expressed by wonderful artists like you! Thank you Claudia Little, can’t wait to see more.

  41. Melissa Morgan on February 11th, 2010 8:02 pm

Emerging from the darkness. Unveiling all yet noting at all since she’s hiding behind a skull. She seems to transcend all inhibitions, even death.

Although this photo could tell a hundred different stories it feels (to me) most like a game of truth or dare. Trapped in that moment of decision the other person waiting for your response. What’s it gonna be?

I love the play of shadows here, particularly the way the cage bars cast across the figure and the HIGHlights harmoniously guide your eyes threw the contents of the entire photo. I think Claudia’s use of light is very effective. There’s a lot of profound beauty in shadows and the things unseen. That is were the creative imagination is spawn and the story lies. I completely disagree with those that say the image needs to be lightened. The intensity and mysteriousness would be lost entirely!

Claudia Little this is wonderful. AMEA SHOW US MORE!!!!!!!!!!

  42. Heather on February 11th, 2010 9:37 pm

    awesome, very sweet.

  47. Cooper Lee Bombardier on February 12th, 2010 2:59 am

I like this picture. It is gorgeous and dark and mysterious. I get the opportunity to let my imagination read into it. The meaning is not fed to me. It has cinematic qualities that remind me of the work of Cindy Sherman. I hope you will include Claudia Little’s work!

  48. Cattle Bistro on February 12th, 2010 4:45 am

This is rockin’, keep on going.

beautiful work! excellent shadow love the bone mask!

  56. Malik on February 13th, 2010 3:38 am

A beautiful print. I love the contrast and composition, my eyes immediately focus to the center, but I\’m really drawn to how dark the blacks are. I can\’t help but look into the blacks and what really stands out are the textures. This photo covers and amazing range and is also simplistic. I would interested to see more if this were a series.

  57. Rosina on February 13th, 2010 6:07 am

Very New Mexican-beautiful, great light, nice boots.

  58. Alison on February 13th, 2010 10:01 am

I am loving this picture! The combination of passivity, being locked in a cage and the pose in connection with the engagement involved in actively holding up the mask is evocative for me. I am a big fan of this photo, keep it coming.

  59. Greg on February 13th, 2010 3:15 pm

Hmmm. This picture grows on you. After having given it a look several times I seem to keep discovering new detail or aspect that I hadn’t noticed before, such as the pelvis skull mask, the smooth skin on the rounded belly, the cage, and the captor. There’s more here than at first meets the casual eye. I like that. Would like to see this in a higher resolution, and to see more from this artist.

  60. Lori Ottino on February 13th, 2010 7:42 pm

Nice lighting… though seeing anything in a cage makes me want to cry… not a turn on for me at all…

  63. Julie on February 14th, 2010 12:20 am

Very powerful photograph. I see depth and there is an energy that comes through that makes me want to experience more of this artists work. Simply put…more is felt than is even seen. . . .wow.

  64. fairy farin on February 14th, 2010 12:23 am

I was very pleased to see this piture of luring fantasy and mystic dreams. the intense shadowing and contrast on the female figure is lovey. the bars, the mask and the boots seem as if sybols in a love dream. thank you claudia little for capturing so much

  65. Zoe on February 14th, 2010 4:17 am

Beautiful, i wish we could see her feet tho

  66. Carlo Armendariz on February 14th, 2010 9:05 am

Wow! Makes me wonder what thoughts the photographer is conveying. Woman, nude, caged, masked, tamed? & a female photographer makes the photograph more intense in my opinion.
    Interesting concept!

  67. christian newman on February 14th, 2010 7:27 pm

Incredible form. I love the contrasting light, and the pained expression. Beautiful…

  68. Catriona on February 14th, 2010 7:55 pm

Great work. As with M, i really like the use of the shadow. And very interesting reading all the dif comments. I can see this not being eveyones type of art, but i think it portrays the dark myserious world with some class. aslo like the 2nd pesron especially if it is a female, but leaves room for imagination. cant wait for more.

  69. Prof. LR Berger on February 15th, 2010 7:48 am

The composition demonstrates the photographers insight into the relationship between humans and the natural world, and the unique relationship that females have with birth, life and death. The use of a pelvis to frame the subjects face which contrasts sharply with the living pelvis of the prone woman accentuates the unique feminine relationship between life and death, centered around the birth experience. The cage with no top – is it in fact a crib? – appears to capture the enigma of the life giving feminine trapped in the biological reality of her existance. The enigmatic, androgynous booted feet and legs – is this a male or a female one must ask? – appears to symbolize those outside this feminine cage, and the militaristic or dominant dress, implies both a potential role as Master, but a master excluded by the very bars, and possibly anatomy, of the experiences of the model. An intriguing and thought provoking work, worthy of inclusion in the museum.

    simply wonderful!

  74. fomatic on February 17th, 2010 1:22 am

wooww! very odd mental erotism in the pictures… for me..I would like to make the album cover for my music..

  75. Betsy on February 18th, 2010 12:58 am

The eyes run over the soft and sensual woman’s body, the person in shiny black a surprise, tells an intriguing tale. Loved the composition, rich light and shadows. Could taste all the textures. Excellent.

  76. J santos on February 18th, 2010 11:46 am

Is she flipping the bird on the under, I ask myself. Never the less it does not distract from the way the shadows fall into contours of the figure.I can also sense a hint of I’m jus kick-n back like a playa’do-ness from the figure behind the skull, mixed in with a playful inquisitiveness that emanates from the boots. I love it!

  77. TSaari on February 19th, 2010 4:03 pm

Gambarnya Bagus! Evokes both power and sensuality. I like it. Hope to see more like this.

Ah, yes… This pictures has the elements of authenticity… The lighting and ‘language’ is present within this piece, and nothing has been enhanced… The true essence of beauty, erotic or not, it captures the purity of womanhood

    -Brilliant work

Ah, yes…This picture contains the elements of authenticity…
this piece has the correct lighting and atmosphere -

  82. angaym k oss on February 20th, 2010 6:47 pm

I stii find the mystery of the darker side of eros to be such a prominent theme in this picture. Not just in terms of light but in the realms of the souls shadows too. Such beauty and possibility for the submissive and dominant roles played, exchanged, indulged and enjoyed are what i feel are conveyed. The timeless connection the woman has to godess sensuality and, as i’ve undersdtood from french culture; what they refer to as “a little death”. Striking, powerful and truly seductive!

Tasteful nudity and cool shoes are a good combination. :)

very nicely done, good composition, I love how you have captured the beauty of the female body yet you allow us to fill the blanks to create the story of what might be going on this photo. It has the look of a surrealist painting.
